Tire Country Will Assist with Your Alignment Service Needs

Alignment describes the way the tires and wheels are angled on your vehicle. These specifications play a crucial role in how your vehicle handles and the tire wear rate. For these reasons, it's recommended you have an alignment inspection when installing new tires. Your owner's manual may also recommend intervals for wheel alignments based on time or mileage.

Tire Country is a tire and alignment shop serving Jacksonville, NC, Piney Green, NC, Half Moon, NC, and surrounding areas.

When it's time for a wheel alignment, contact us at (910) 353-8473 or schedule online.

Wheel Alignment in Jacksonville, NC

There are three angles critical to an alignment:

  • Toe: Wheels can be toe-in (wears tires on outside) or toe-out (wears tires on inside). The optimal option depends on your vehicle and will have an effect on tire wear rate. Toe-in alignments compensate for friction that occurs while driving and pushes wheels apart. However, toe-in alignments aren't always the ideal option; toe-out alignments are the better choice on some vehicles, such as many old front-wheel drives, because these vehicles are built in a way where the wheels pull inward.
  • Camber: Camber describes how your tires and wheels lean relative to being straight. There are two types of camber: negative and positive. With negative camber, the tire tilts in toward the vehicle. With positive camber, the tire tilts away from the vehicle. Like toe, the ideal camber type depends on your vehicle and how you drive it, as well as road conditions. Most vehicles should have some camber to compensate for turns.
  • Caster: Caster is the angle between the upper ball joint and the lower ball joint. The angle tilt can be forward (negative caster) or rearward (positive caster) and plays an important role in handling. Incorrect caster requires drivers to exert more effort steering and increases the rate of wear on tires.

At Tire Country, our alignment technicians will realign your tires and wheels to optimal angles for your make and model.
